Made a site visit yesterday to visit with the homeowner and walk through a relatively complete house! Things turned out great and I am excited to see furniture delivered and the interior to take shape. Check out these pics:
Here are a few photos from my recent visit to Atlanta for the American Institute of Architects National Convention. The highlight was visiting the Martin Luther King Center and Ebenezer Baptist Church. Keynote speeches from President Bill Clinton and world renowned Architect Moshe Safdie wasn't half bad either. What a fantastic trip!!
President Clinton dares us architects to work harder to create buildings with low emissions and promote healthy growth.
Moshe Safdie! One of my FAVORITE Architects of all time. What a humble and wonderful human being.
A great reunion in Atlanta! My good friend (and fellow Architect) from the Bahamas flew in for the Conference. IRADEZ International's own Dezon Curry.
The Greatest. MLK.
Visit this place. It is good for the soul. Ebenezer Baptist Church.
At the King Center. Quite a place.

Very honored to have one of my designs on the Cover of the latest issue. Be sure to pick up a copy of the latest issue in Barnes & Noble or around Charleston and Kiawah Island. Inside you can read about the technology and techniques I incorporated into this sustainable and innovative home! Cheers, from your friendly neighborhood Architect. DB
Well, the windows have been installed and the liquid applied waterproofing membrane work continues. This 3-part process will inevitably provide an air tight seal to the exterior envelope of the home. This will equate to a 30-40% reduction in air infiltration....thus lowering the heating and cooling loads. I am excited to be a part of this innovative process courtesy of STO Corp. One of my designs was just featured on the website www.homestratosphere.com
Construction is under way to a second story addition to an existing garage. The new homeowners requested an additional bedroom space, and we had just enough space to tuck it under the grand Live Oak that sits in the front yard. When it is complete, the addition will appear to have been there all along.
